Chaika: Pangolin

Chaika (чайка) / Seagull brand is never a favorite for most Russian watches collectors (comparing to Poljot, Raketa, Vostok or Slava) as the watch factory produced women watches mainly. However in certain occasions, you will find Chaika men watches with 2605 movement. even though there are only handful of designs known to most of collectors.

This particular Chaika watch showed up as a surprise, the design is very unique and may not be pleasing to everyone. The diagonal lines representing hour indices for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11, whereby 5, 7 and 12 are represented by grey sharp triangle. The dark blue hour and minutes hands have no lumes or paints applied, in my personal opinion the entire design concept is based on creative use of "lines and shapes".

This special dial design wires my brain to this cool animal called Pangolin, especially for it's scale shape. Therefore I decided to call this watch as Chaika Pangolin ;)

Enough said, more photos of this watch from different angles.

I know this watch is not in great condition, but it is never easy to come across such Chaika watch for sales with nicely aged patina and I am definitely a happy owner.

Cheers :-)
